Scientific study
What many have known for a while is now scientifically proven: heat treatment of insect bites with devices like heat it® leads to rapid and significant relief from pain and itch, especially compared to no treatment at all. This is confirmed by our in-depth study, which we published in June 2023.
With your help, we were able to publish the world's most detailed study on the effectiveness of thermal insect bite healers. Thank you very much for this!
Key findings of the study
1) Insect bites and stings cause considerable itching and pain. The application of concentrated heat relieves this reliably and safely.
2) In the specific case of mosquito bites, itching can be reduced by 57% within the first minute and by 81% 10 minutes after treatment.
3) Compared to a control group that didn't receive treatment for mosquito bites, the reduction in itching in the group treated with heat it® was four times greater two minutes after treatment or after the initial itching had subsided.
4) The use of controlled hyperthermia is safe.
Details and methodology
The study was led by Prof Dr Maurer and Prof Dr Metz (Charité Berlin) and was conducted with more than 1,750 people and over 12,000 treated insect bites (observation period June to October 2022). Data was collected using a combination of the heat it™ device with user smartphones. Android users could join the survey mode and rate the effect of treatment directly via the app. The unique query of demographic data and additional information about treated insect bites / stings, together with the large amount of data, enabled detailed analyses with a high level of relevance.

What's next?
After the publication of the study, we carry our investigations and the survey mode. Our goal is to continue collecting data and findings in order to achieve further scientific progress in the field of thermal insect bite treatment in the long term. It is particularly important to us to continuously improve the operation of the survey mode and to incorporate your feedback.
We would therefore like to say a big thank you in advance for your continued commitment! Of course, we will keep on giving away great prizes among all participants.
Note: Please note that when you claim your prize, a link may be created between your anonymous app user ID and your order data. In this case, we will need to store your personal data (your shipping address). However, as usual, we handle this data responsibly, delete it if possible and do not pass it on to third parties.
